Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Nkoranza SHTs E-Voting System.

General
It is a secure digital platform built specifically for student elections at Nkoranza Senior High Technical School. Students vote online for various leadership positions using their unique school credentials.
All registered students of Nkoranza SHTs can vote. Each student receives a unique Student ID and password from the school administration. Admin staff have separate access for managing elections.
Yes. The system records that you voted (to prevent duplicate voting) but your specific choice is never linked back to your identity. Only aggregated totals are shown in results.
Yes. Every vote is protected by CSRF tokens, passwords are hashed with bcrypt, all admin actions require authentication, and every significant action is logged with a timestamp for audit purposes.
Voting
Log in with your Student ID and password -> click "Vote Now" on the home page -> select one candidate per position -> review your choices -> click Submit. You will see a confirmation screen when your vote is recorded.
No. Once submitted, a vote is final and cannot be changed or withdrawn. This protects the integrity of the election. Review your choices carefully on the confirmation screen before submitting.
If your connection drops before you submit, your vote will not be counted -- just log back in and try again. If it drops after you click Submit, the system will attempt to sync automatically when connectivity is restored.
After a successful submission you will see a confirmation screen. Your profile will also show that you have voted in that election. If you are unsure, contact the IT Personnel at +233 54 581 1179.
Yes. The system works on any device -- phone, tablet, or computer -- and on all major browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Account & Login
Use the "Forgot password? Reset it here" link on the login page -- enter your registered email address and a reset link will arrive within minutes. If you have no email on your profile, contact the electoral committee.
This could mean someone accessed your account. Contact the Returning Officer immediately at +233 54 963 2116. Do not attempt to log in again until the matter is investigated.
This is a security feature to prevent one person from voting multiple times. You are allowed to log back in to view results after the election ends.
Make sure your Student ID and password are entered exactly as given -- both are case-sensitive. If the problem continues, contact the IT Personnel at +233 54 581 1179.
Results
Results are published on the Results page as soon as the election period ends. There is no delay -- the system computes and displays totals in real time.
The candidate with the highest number of votes for each position wins. In the event of a tie, the Election Committee will determine the outcome based on established school guidelines.
Yes. All past election results are archived and accessible at any time from the Results page.
